Who are Topeka Chapter, NSDAR, Daughters
Welcome to the Topeka Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR), in Topeka, Kansas.
For over 125 years, the Topeka Chapter, NSDAR, members have been active in promoting historic preservation, patriotism, and education. Membership is open to any woman, aged 18 or older, who can prove lineal descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence between April 19, 1775, and November 26, 1783. The Topeka Chapter, NSDAR, has trained volunteers ready to help you with your membership application.
We are a Service Organization
Each year, chapter members engage in meaningful community service, honor our veterans, support our active-duty service members and promote literacy programs. We are women of diverse backgrounds, from across the country, who are joined together to support our community. By following the DAR motto of “God, Home and Country”, we participate in many activities encompassing historic preservation, education and patriotism.
Service is the underlying component of most of our activities. The Daughters of the American Revolution is, above all else, a service organization. To honor our ancestors who fought for our nation’s independence, we are committed to volunteer service to better our local communities.
Members participate in regular monthly meetings, held on the second Saturday of the month in the Topeka area. Contact us for more information!

Historic Preservation
Our members recognize the importance of preserving history by working to preserve genealogical data and ancestry, supporting various historical sites, participating in wreath-laying opportunities, and celebrating commemorative events. We invite women of all backgrounds to join us in our efforts to preserve our heritage for future generations.

Education
The chapter participates wholeheartedly in our American History Essay contests, Constitution Week, the DAR Good Citizens Award and Scholarship Contest, Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (JROTC) awards, meetings, workshops, forums, living history events, and conferences.
Our members are also actively involved in promoting literacy through volunteer work and service projects.

Patriotism
We honor patriotism through service projects designed to support our active-duty military and veterans including Topeka Veterans Affairs Medical Center activities, Vietnam War veterans’ commemorations, and Wreaths Across America.
Our programs and meetings provide opportunities throughout the year to learn more about supporting veterans, history, and heritage.

Wreaths Across America
REMEMBER the Fallen. . . HONOR those who Serve. . . TEACH our children the value of Freedom.
Please help us honor and remember as many fallen heroes as possible by sponsoring remembrance wreaths, volunteering on Wreaths Day, or inviting your family and friends to attend with you.
